Me and Oman
This site has been created to give a sweeping overview of some of the things that you will need to know when visiting Oman.
I myself came to Oman 7 years ago, on a work placement. I then left for a couple of years and was asked if I wanted to go back permanently, an offer at which I jumped at.
Oman is a vibrant country, steeped in culture, deep religious beliefs and traditions. Coming from Belgium, I was not used to a lot of what I found here when I first set foot on the exceptionally hot tarmac of the plane! However, over time, I came to love the sensibilities of the nation. The calm manner of the people and the commitment to a life where people behaved in a sensible fashion.
Much of the time in the West, there is such a ‘laissez-faire’ attitude to life, where people do ‘n’import quoi, n’import quand’, soi-disant.
I became a bit sick of this, hence my acceptance to return to Oman to live here full time.
If you are thinking of coming out here for a visit, please do, as you will not regret it. Should you have any specific questions you can of course drop us a line via the contact us page, and I’ll endeavour to try to get back to you within a week or two.
